This Voltage reducer is for use on 48 Volt carts with 8 Volt batteries. Connect it to two 8 Volt batteries (16 Volts) to reduce down to 12 volts. This 10 Amp Voltage Reducer is recommended for carts with just headlights/taillights. If you have fans, radios, alarms, turn signals, etc., we recommend using the 25 amp voltage reducer
